how to allow domain.com as well as www.domain.com ?

I hate to see this recommendation, although it does what the user
asked. It also may break other things...like e-mail.

I recommend:
domain.com A "IP address of www.domain.com"

This will allow MX records for domain.com to continue to work. It also 
does not preempt the addition of other types of RR for domain.com like 
a CNAME does.
