DNS listing

i was wonder how can one protects other from getting a listing of all hostnames from displaying when someone
performs nslookup? for example, if i type this at the command line:

% nslookup - rs0.internic.net
Default Server: rs0.internic.net
Address: 198.41.0.5

> ls internic.net
[rs0.internic.net]
*** Can't list domain internic.net: Query refused
>

is this being configured on the firewall or on the dns level? how can i block this type of query on my dns server?
