nslookup in debug mode

I recently compiled and installed bind 8.2.2-P5 to run as a slave
server on a HP 820/D380 machine running HP-UX 10.20.

Everything is running smoothly except for nslookup which does what
it should except that it runs by default in debug mode.

I've compiled the same version of bind on a 715 HP workstation
running 10.20 and nslookup behaves normally on this machine.

Has anybody ever come across this before?  If so is there a fix?
