unapproved update from .....

Greetings,

I am receiving a number of messages in the form of:

Dec  7 14:12:55 opus named[218]: unapproved update from [x.y.z.j].portnumber
for rockefeller.edu

I believe these systems are running Windows 2000. Looking back in
the bind archives, I see some talk about this message. But I never saw
an  actual solution.  I don't want to give the systems write access
to the nameserver.  Is there something else can be done?
