	Just because you have not explictity queried for a EDU domain does
	not mean the nameserver didn't need to.

	We fixed some bugs with detecting and reporting referral around
	BIND 8.2.1.  The current BIND release in BIND 8.2.2-P5.  The
	EDU server are almost never lame so I suspect you have a old BIND.
