conversion of named.boot to named.conf

All,

I have been unable to convert my named.boot to named.conf .  The file
bootconf.pl gives me an error every time I try to sh
./usr/local/bind/src/bin/named/named-bootconf.pl.  The error is as follows:
named-bootconf.pl: =: not found
named-bootconf.pl: =: not found
named-bootconf.pl: syntax error at line 25:`('


I couldn't find a MAN page for making the upgrade, and didn't find anything
but a brief mention in the 3rd edition of DNS & Bind.
