Apologies if this is the wrong group to ask in, but it seemed the most 
appropriate.

Is there any means of obtaining the entire list of domain names under an 
upper-level domain like .com? Any method, be it some nslookup command (that doesn't 
clog up the root servers, preferably), or a web or ftp site would be good (the last 
two being far better).

Alternatively, is there any means of obtaining the entire whois database?

Remove the spamguard if you want to reply by mail.
