Bind 8.1.2 version number

We are running bind 8.1.2 and are trying to disable it from giving away
its version number.  I know that in bind 8.2 you can use the 'version'
statement to customize what bind reports when queried, but I have been
unable to find anything to do the same thing on bind 8.1.2.  Any help
would be appreciated.
