I solved a similar problem on BIND 8.1.2 with the following patch
Patch-ID# 106938-02
Synopsis: SunOS 5.7: libresolv patch
Files included with this patch:
/usr/lib/libresolv.so.1
/usr/lib/libresolv.so.2
/usr/lib/sparcv9/libresolv.so.2
Problem Description:
4211042 Bind 8.1.2 in.named memory leak in Solaris 7
