Webinar Descriptions
Understanding Your IPv6 Options:
Presented by Suzanne Woolf and Leo Bicknell, this session was the first in a series of events developed to remove the mystery and set you on the right path to implementing IPv6. Topics covered included migration concerns at each level of the OSI model, transition technologies & strategies as an overview of ISC IPv6 implementation.
*Two Special Packages were created to help you with your migration. They are a Training and Consulting package and a Consulting and Support package. Discount codes for these were mailed to attendees.
BIND 9.8 New Feature Overview:
Join ISC's CEO, Barry Greene, Product Manager Larissa Shapiro, and BIND 9 Engineering Manager Michael Graff, for a discussion of the new features in BIND 9.8.0, the latest major release of ISC's flagship product. Question and Answer session to follow.
BIND 10: From Prototype to Production:
The BIND 10 Team is hosting a free webinar on Thursday, 14 April at either 8:00 AM PDT or 4:00 PM PDT. Please join two of ISC's BIND experts, Larissa Shapiro and Shane Kerr for an informative 60 minute session.
Larissa is our ISC Product Manager, focusing on BIND and ISC DHCP. Shane worked on the ISC team that added DHCPv6 support to the ISC DHCP server and is currently our BIND 10 Program Manager.
In this webinar, we will:
* Discuss the motivations and ideas behind BIND 10
* Describe the state of the software today
* Discuss future plans for production ready versions of BIND 10
* Explain what BIND 10 means to you.... operators, developers, community members
IPv6 for Carriers and ISPs:
In this webinar, we will:
• Provide an overview of concerns for ISPs in deploying IPv6 and supporting customers during v6 to v6 transition
• Address how issues around CPE, end user requirements, transit provider options, and other concerns may affect your organization
• Discuss specific implementation issues ISPs and Carriers may have, such as complying with Lawful Intercept requirements while using a transition technology.
Panelists:
1) Larissa Shapiro, ISC Product Manager
2) Paul Selkirk, AFTR Senior Software Engineer
3) Joao Damas, Technical Business Development Manager
4) Shane Kerr, BIND10 Programme Manager
SIE and Passive DNS:
ISC SIE is a trusted, private framework for information sharing in the Internet Security field. Participants can operate real time sensors that upload and/or inject live data to SIE, and other participants can subscribe to this data either in real time, or by query access, or by limited and anonymized download.
In this webinar, Barry Greene, Eric Ziegast and Robert Edmonds will:
- Provide an Overview of SIE, Passive DNS, and the DNSDB
- Give a context of how this will help the Security industry evolve into more effective Private-Private and Public-Private partnerships
- Demonstrate how different security companies are using SIE to collaborate and share, quietly, behind the scenes, while publicly competing with these same “SIE peers.”
- Provide examples of how Passive DNS is pulling back the covers, allowing the good guys to see the bad guy activities, helping to “take back DNS.”
- Provide step-by-step guidance to help organizations join the SIE and Passive DNS efforts.
DHCP, DHCPv6 & DHCP 10 Feature and Roadmap planning:
DHCP users, come on down! ISC's product manager, Larissa Shapiro, with ISC's DHCP development team, for discussion of the DHCP roadmap, for DHCP 4.3, DHCPv6, and our new development effort, DHCP 10. All interested parties are welcome, and your input will be solicited for prioritizing new DHCP features.
BIND 9 Feature and Roadmap planning:
Join ISC's Product Manager Larissa Shapiro, and BIND 9 Engineering Manager Michael Graff, for a discussion of the new features in BIND 9.9 and 9.10 and future plans of ISC's flagship product. This is an opportunity for our customers to express their opinions and make suggestions regarding the roadmap plans. There will be a Question and Answer session to follow.
This event is for ISC Software Forum Members and Support Customers only.
IPv6 for the Enterprise:
Join two of ISC's technology experts, Suzanne Woolf and Alan Clegg, for an informative hour on considerations for the enterprise network
in the upcoming transition of the Internet from IPv4 to IPv6. They will bring a combined total of decades of experience with Internet
standards, software, and infrastructure to the task of helping you understand and plan for this latest change in the underlying
technology of the Internet, focusing on basic services like DNS and DHCP.
In this webinar, we will:
* Review who needs to be concerned about IPv6, and when, and why
* Help you identify key considerations in assessing your own network's IPv6 readiness
* Show you some "transition" techniques for keeping change under control...and their pitfalls
* Help you find out what you need to know from your ISPs and other partners to coordinate a smooth transition
If you have questions about IPv6 deployment, you can forward them to us during the webinar and our experts will answer them live.
