More on our Hands-on training labs
The lecture sections of the classes are punctuated by hands-on labs to reinforce what is learned. We provide a virtual machine for each student - the laptop each person brings with them is needed to access and configure BIND on that virtual machine. These laptops should have the following installed: Wired Ethernet, windowing operating system (X, Mac, Windows), ssh client, and DHCP network configuration.
The student virtual machines interact with each other to simulate the real Internet and DNS protocol traffic. On the last day of training, you will leave with a better understanding of the material having participated in all the labs, and on your laptop will be a tarball of the lab setup (yours and other students) to take away and use as reference later.
