BIND is the reference platform for the IETF's RFC's. It is critically important that organizations who provide core internet infrastructure have continual access to a reference platform for their authoritative DNS servers that adheres to the RFCs and ensure interoperability of the DNS.
ISC seeks BIND 10 sponsorships from publicly minded organizations who share the vision that a freely-available, open-source DNS system must be available to all and serve the public internet.
Today's internet infrastructure organisations are held to a high standard by their stakeholders that goes beyond domain registrations and operating the authoritative DNS. TLD Registries, RIRs, and in particular, ccTLD Registries are tasked to be proactive in ensuring the future of the Internet's infrastructure. Sponsorship of BIND 10 is demonstrable evidence of fulfilling one's stewardship mandate.
ISC is highly regarded for its renowned engineers, corporate values, and selfless contributions to the betterment of the Internet. Sponsors of Bind 10 share those attributes by association.
