Option 82 data can sometimes be handy not necessarily for determining
from which pool to offer an address, but for forensic information later:
connecting an ip address to a DSLAM or FTTH position, for example. When
provided an ip address and a window of time, you may need to know which
of your customers was using that ip during that window. Depending on
your jurisdiction you may have a legal requirement to store such
information for possible future warrants.
