On the client side, I am looking at the network traffic with ethereal. I
see the corresponding DHCPREQUEST and DHCPACK messages. Then the server is
shut down. About the time the lease expires, I get a message in ethereal
that the network is down. When the server boots up, in the messages file it
appears the my client has got its address again but I can't ping the client.
  I can't get to the client until I do a '/sbin/dhclient eth0'.

Is there a way for the client to automatically gets it IP rather than have
user interaction?
