If you go forward to a new version, then most definitely yes. There were 
a few step changes where backwards compatibility was anissue.

You can test by running the *new* dhcpd binary using the -T option to 
test the old dhcpd.leases. No warnings means it's ok. See the dhcpd man 
page for exact details.
