Well XP is normally 'reasonably' well behaved - it certainly isn't 
that broken. There could be other factors at work here.

Steinar Haug pointed out that you are running failover by the sound 
of it. I assume the client hasn't renewed with the other server and 
you've not noticed ?

What is your network setup ? Is the client remote (ie communicating 
via a relay agent) ?
