host-identifier with IPv6

So for the sake of discussion, you've convinced me that DUID 
is the way to go for IPv6, I've been there for a while actually I'm 
just trying to figure out how to get there.  What are we suppose 
to be doing for IPv4?  Do DCHPv4 clients exist out in the wild, 
especially Windows and Macintosh that support DUID and 
RFC 4361?  Or do we have to support MAC addresses and 
DUIDs at the same time?
