You should be getting your Amino's with the Minerva software flashed onto it from your distributor.  You should not need to do this yourself, although 
it is kind of nice to go through that process for upgrades later on. One thing that Amino has is a "browser code" software release, that allows you to 
type in multicast addresses, but does not use any middleware.  These are great for testing, not so great for customers.  If you got a big shipment of 
these browser code versions, someone somewhere made a mistake, because you should be getting the Minerva load from your Amino distributor for normal 
customer use.

This is not confined to Amino, BTW... Motorola and ADB (at least) also require that you purchase the STB that matches your ecosystem.  ADB and Moto 
don't have quite as an elaborate process to get their software, so they're a little easier to work with.
