IPV4 mode notworking in Dhcpd-4.0.0

An attempt to run dhcpd in IPV4 mode abonrmally terminates with:

Error opening '/proc/net/if_inet6' to list IPv6 interfaces: No such file 
or directory

even though the "-4" option is set when calling dhcpd. Same behavior 
encountered
in dcpd-4.1.0a1.

Any ideas, anyone ??
