The built in DHCPd that runs on OSX is fine for simple installs, but
does not have the flexibility of the ISC config files. It compiles and
runs great. I have an OSX server that has been running ISC for years
without issue.
just compile from source ( make sure you install the xcode DEV tools
from the disk ) and then setup your config file and launch dhcpd.
