Problems with Mac OS X Clients

I had abundant problems when I got my MAC. It turned out to be because I
used .local as my local non-routable tld in DNS. Once I changed that to
.home everything worked smoothly.
Apple uses .local in rendevous, you can not use it for anything else; if
you do you are in for all sorts of problems, including that dhcp does
not work.
