configuration option data not in file

I just tried a configuration file without any "* lease-time" statements.
I checked lease file on the client
It shows

LEASETIME = 86400
RENEWALTIME = 43200
REBINDTIME = 75600
INTERFACE = "eth0"
....
It goes like this.
I think the dhcp server has some default value to send out incase if that missing.
I hope somebody will explain the proper behaviour.
