If your AIX system doesn't have a /dev/random or /dev/urandom, try the following -
Get the correct major number from the system ( 56 in this case )
root at dimqswlv2:/ ==> # odmget CuDvDr | grep -p random
CuDvDr:
resource = "ddins"
value1 = "random"
value2 = "56"
value3 = ""
root at dimqswlv2:/ ==> # mknod /dev/random c 56 0
root at dimqswlv2:/ ==> # mknod /dev/urandom c 56 1
