IPv6 root DNS change

Dear Sirs:
 

I just read about the new, upcoming DNS changes on slashdot:

Could someone please tell me whether this will adversely affect a

bind-8.4.7 install? (IPv4-only system). Getting a little worried, here.

Their brief says something about older installations, but it wasn't clear

to me how that fits in with bind 8.
