I would not recomend LLMNR. It is incompatible with Bonyour and awahi.

Bonyour comes installed with every Mac.

awahi is default on Feodra Core 5 and higher. I have seen all newer
Linux releases do support it.

I am told there is a windows port too.

And BSD supports it.

Bonjour is RFC 2782
