Actually, this should be:
www.mydomain.com. IN A 10.0.0.1
IN A 10.0.0.2
IN A 10.0.0.3
IN A 10.0.0.4
IN A 10.0.0.5
next.example.com. IN A 10.0.0.6
You forgot the " A " in subsequent records and trailing dot on the www
line...
Is the "IN" strictly necessary? No, but putting it in does indicate
what type of record it is for...
