Extremely important.

IPv6 and IDN require large queries and responses, too.

Even today, with few DNSsec, IPv6 and IDN, at least two TLD (Ireland -
18 bytes in excess, and Romania - 1 byte in excess) cannot send back
all their nameservers without EDNS (or TCP).
