I interpreted the question the other way around. I think he wants his
users to be able to use the name "server.domainexternal.com" to refer to
some server, but he doesn't host the domainexternal.com domain. I.e. he
wants the equivalent of
server.domainexternal.com. CNAME server.mydomain.com.
