debug level for standard everyday running? and Help with TTL error

None.  You normally only enable debugging when there's a problem you're 
trying to debug.

I don't think there's any way to customize the logging messsages, other 
than hacking the source code.  I suppose you could enable query logging, 
and then try to match the times of the log messages up with the queries 
that were taking place at the same time.
