Hi all,
I somehow managed to create 200,000 dummy zones with 1.2 million total
records using bind-dlz's how-to., and as i planted it on my FreeBSD box
with the default installation of bind9 coming from FreeBSD ports tree,
it came out strange results
CPU consumption 80%+ average using top
checknamed-conf = 2 minutes
BIND9, on local area network won't respond to any query, even a query of
the dummy or a remote site.
FreeBSD 5.3 base install running only BIND9, no other services or apps.
Hardware: Dual pentium 3 500mHZ, 215mb.
I would like to question, which part of BIND should i dig into this? on
which part of tuning should i focus on this? datasize? memory size? (or
this is an issue on FreeBSD?)
Thank you
