master and slave for same zone on with different IP addresses

Yes, I agree but I it meant changing many dozens of other workstations 
settings to search for the master nameserver IP/hostname,ie 
macduff.umds.ac.uk
 when currently they are configured to search for the IP/hostaname of 
the slave,ie prospero.umds.ac.uk
Anyway I set up a test zone with a test master name server the virtual 
interface  has the IP address and hostname of the of  the secondary 
nameserver.

There are now two different  IP addresses with two different hostnames 
for nameserving the same zone on one machine.

Using the command dig @prospero.umds.ac.uk www.kcl.ac.uk there was no
