BTW, the MNAME in the SOA is incorrect:

amherst.edu.   IN      SOA     ns.amherst.edu. netmgr\.amherst.edu. 
                                                     ^
                                                     Should be
						     deleted: software
						     interprets it as
						     netmgr.amherst at edu.
