It's a proposed DHCP option which allows a DHCP server to tell the 
client what its FQDN is.

I think the original poster meant "forward zone" as opposed to "reverse 
zone" (which is also typically updated at the time the DHCP lease is 
given out), rather than a zone of type "forward"
