In directory where core dump occurs.
su root
mkdir core ; chmod 000 core
That is a cheap and nasty anti-core dump trick, better than
making a file as you add "-type f" to the find statement in the
script that finds and removes core dumps (assuming you have
one), amongst other reasons.
named really shouldn't crash.
Are you sure that version doesn't have known security flaws!
