You shouldn't have to.  It seems to me that dealing with all the
ideosyncracies of country registrars (and there are many) is what you're
paying Verisign to do.  Demand that they tell you what's wrong with your

ns1.dns.net.nz doesn't have recursion enabled, so there's no reason why it
should be able to look up anything outside the .nz domains that it's
authoritative for.

I just queried your primary server, ns1.mis.bio-rad.com, for all the
information it has about bio-rad.co.nz, and this is what I got.  It looks
like you haven't actually set up the domain on your server, since it's a
non-authoritative answer that appears to be coming out of its cache.  I'm
not sure where it even got the answer from, since the domain isn't
delegated anywhere yet (maybe ns1.mis.bio-rad.com is configured with
forwarders, and the server it forwards to has the domain installed on it).
