Hi.

I have had the samt problem..

If you are using "_" in your domain name, you might want to use this line
in your named.conf file, under the zone that has "_" in it :)

check-names ignore;

This helped for me...

Subject: Help! So many named daemons

Our DNS server is Compaq DS 20 with 2G memory, 5G swap space.

This machine is cache only name server.

Currently BIND version that we are running is 8.2.5.

After successful installation, it seems that there is

no problems for a few days.

But when I logged on the server several days later,

I found so many many DNS daemons (named), that were about 500.

Because of exhaustion of memory and swap space, there is no

room for another process.

The parent process ID of DNS daemons are 1 without an exception.

Why this problem was happened?
