help bind wont start

Funny, I have this same problem except with NT...everything was great....the
readme was surpurb with just the important information there except for one
thing....where does the named.conf file go.  I've tried numerous guesses and
all the likely places....and I believe that's why the service won't start.
c:\winnt; the same folder as the dns files; system32; the same folder as the
installation....Where did you put your named.conf file?
