Can someone tell me why is it that why certain addresses will
consistently refuse to resolve?

i.e.. www.omahasteaks.com will not resolve ever while
shop1.omahasteaks.com will.
The first address will resolve on the same machine using an alternative
dns.

I am using bind 9.2.1. Here is what I get from dig www.omahasteaks.com

Both look as if they should work, but the first will not resolve when
the url is typed into a browser. I have tried both IE & Netscape with
the same result. Here is what comes up with ie.

*	If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that
it is spelled correctly.

*	To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and
then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The
settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN)
administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).

*	If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows
can examine your network and automatically discover network connection
settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
click <javascript:doNetDetect()> Detect Settings Detect Network
