nsupdate++? basic DDNS zone maintenance tool?

I'm aware of such a tool, since I wrote it. :-)

Unfortunately, it was written on DaimlerChrysler time and with their
equipment, so it's legally their property.

If you want to re-invent the wheel, I could give you some general advice
offline...
