In that case, all you need, at minimum, is a root zone on the master
server and a hints file any other nameserver on your intranet, referring
to the master. Eventually, you might want to add more slave servers for
redundancy, and delegate subzones to make your DNS more manageable, but
initially all you need is a single root zone.
