res_npquery implementation missing

Hi,

resolv.h in bind 8.2.x contains the following prototype:
#define res_npquery             __res_npquery
void            res_npquery __P((const res_state, const u_char *, int, FILE 
*));

But i couldn't find its implementation anywhere in the code.
Can anyone tell me when was this function introduced in BIND and
where can i find its implementation ?
