Save Named Cache

When named shuts down gracefully, it spits out the USAGE, NSTATS and
XSTATS to the log, doesn't it? So it shouldn't be terribly difficult to
collect those "swan song" stats and add them to the hourly stats, to get
an overall picture of performance over any given time interval.

As for saving and restoring the cache data itself, we've debated the
value of that many times in this forum. To summarize somewhat: while it
may save some startup time, it probably wouldn't save as much as one
might superficially expect, because expired entries would have to be
purged. In fact, it could make for *slower*, more resource-intensive
restarts. I think the general consensus is that BIND 9's multi-threading
behavior speeds up restarts more than any "stored cache" scheme could
hope to, especially on multiprocessor boxes.
