Note that, per the RFCs, a "(" at the end of a line signals that the
next lines (until the closing parenthesis) are considered part of that
logical line.
Previous versions of 8.* were just too forgiving of your syntax, which
was always illegal. I don't know why this has changed, except that ISC
is always tightening syntax to prevent odd errors and exploits.
