I seem to be missing every other letter in this stream.

There is no 8.9.1.  The latest non-beta version in the 8.* line is
8.2.2-P7.  The latest 8.2.3 beta and 9.1.0 beta are possibly more
secure and possibly even more stable - but they are betas.
