"no NS RRs found at zone top" means the server did not find any "Name Server
Resource Records".
ie...
@ IN NS <your-name-server1>.
@ IN NS <your-name-server2>.
What does the file 63.214.252 look like on your server? This is the file
that should miniimally have an SOA record, and NS records for the zone
"252.214.63.IN-ADDR.ARPA". Then follow those with your PTR records.

Subject: First time...be gentle
Hi all bind-users:
I have a dns problem. I have searched the archive of this list and found
some similar postings but nothing definitive with regard to my problem. It
looks like I am having a reverse lookup problem so I looked in my messages
log and grepped for the reverse IN-ADDR and here is the recurring line:
messages:Feb 19 22:03:46 nameserver1 named[441]: Zone
"252.214.63.IN-ADDR.ARPA"
(file 63.214.252): no NS RRs found at zone top
messages:Feb 19 22:03:46 nameserver1 named[441]: zone:
252.214.63.IN-ADDR.ARPA/I
N: non-glue record at bottom of zone: 197.252.214.63.IN-ADDR.ARPA/PTR
messages:Feb 19 22:03:51 nameserver1 named[441]: master zone
"252.214.63.IN-ADDR
.ARPA" (IN) rejected due to errors (serial 2000071917)
what is this telling me? what are NS RRs at zone top? and non-glue record?
anyone?
Thank you for your response
Dale
