slow start

Hi,

I am using RedHat Linux 6.2 and I have installed the
bind-8.2.2_P5-9.i386.rpm package that came along with the Redhat CD.

I had my server working normally during the initial installation, but
after the File System had a problem mounting, I tried to upgrade a games
package to see if it would rebuild the LILO boot, then I finally used fsck
to relink the inodes.

Well, after all that I got my Linux to startup normally, but when I type :
ndc start

it takes about 3 minutes before it can give me the new PID from the
command ndc start

ndc> start
new pid is 6966

then when I type nslookup it says the following:

@visors rc3.d]# nslookup
*** Can't find server name for address <my IP address>: No response from
server
Default Server: <my ISP's IP>
Address: <my ISP's IP address>

>

I am not sure if it had something to due with upgrading the games package
because I notice that it installed bind utilities as one the packages.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Peter
