BIND and sysquery: nlookup error on ?

The message usually indicates that the nameserver is having trouble getting
root zone information. Do you have a firewall in the way blocking
DNS queries? If you're using a forwarder to resolve Internet names, do you
have "forward only" specified? If not, then whenever named times out trying
to talk to the forwarder, it'll try to contact the root nameservers
directly.
