I believe BIND 8.2.2-p5 was only vulnerable to Denial-of-Service attacks.

What tarball are you talking about? A binary tarball? I suppose that would
work, although for RH I would have expected binaries to come in a RPM. Or are
you talking about the source tarball? You'd need to compile that.
