Greetings Cricket,

This is what I have in my master zone file:

@ IN SOA ns1.sandia.gov. macinen.sandia.gov.
(
                                41127   ; #SERIAL NUM#  ==> don't change!!!
                                1800 ; Refresh - 30 min
                                900 ; Retry - 15 min
                                604800 ; Expire - 7 days
                                3600) ; Min TTL - 1 hour
                        IN NS ns1.sandia.gov.
                        IN NS ns2.sandia.gov.
                        IN NS ns3.sandia.gov.
                        IN NS ns4.sandia.gov.

;The loopback interface and give it an alias
localhost IN A 127.0.0.1
localhost. IN A 127.0.0.1

I asked Kevin also about this, but would this make my nameservers
not return a lookup address for www.schafer-ballston.com
<http://www.schafer-ballston.com> ?

Not that exact error, but one like it. It means you
forgot a trailing dot after the "gov" in

		@ IN NS ns4.sandia.gov
