Problem with primary DNS setup

I have set up all the necessary files for a primary dns(db.cache,
db.domain.com, db.in-addr.arpa, and db.127.0.0), and I start up in.named. I
check the syslog for any errors, and there aren't. But, when I try to run
nslookup, I get the following message:

*** Can't find server name for address 127.0.0.1: Server failed
*** Default servers are not available

What does this mean?
